Dora Marques – Co-founder & Managing Partner – Dora Marques is a multifaceted Executive Leader that has held noteworthy financial services positions in the consulting and provider arenas within the healthcare industry for over 30 years. A dynamic leader, Dora is well-known industry-wide as the foremost expert in the Medicare and Medicaid Eligibility & Enrollment space. She has served many years as an advocate for the uninsured, homeless, underinsured, undocumented, and for low-income seniors.
Dora specializes in working with MCO’s and ACO’s in an effort to provide beneficiaries financial relief from premiums, deductibles and copayments, as well as provide more revenue for patient treatments. She possesses a talent for working with clients to optimize Medicare and Medicaid revenue while maintaining compliance with State and Federal reimbursement guidelines. Dora has developed ingenious operational strategies for organizations, and works closely with hospitals, clinics, insurance companies and shelters, as well as the underserved population in non-urbanized areas. She executes on these strategies and drives impressive results.
During Dora’s 30+ year career, she progressed from Project Manager for MediFinancial Solutions, Inc. to Executive Director at CBIZ KA Consulting Services, LLC and then onto CEO of Sierra Financial Services, a financial management company that provides services in the Healthcare industry.
Organizing educational materials and seminars to address the changes in Medicare, Medicaid and Charity Care regulations, Dora has served as a public speaker to educate and communicate regulatory changes to clients and their staff. She has also initiated meetings with Boards of Social Services, county government agencies and hospitals to resolve and discuss difficult Medicaid issues impacting benefits for the underserved population.
Dora has professional affiliations with HFMA (Healthcare Financial Management Association) and NJAAHAM (New Jersey American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management). Recognized by HFMA, Dora was presented with the honor of receiving the “President’s Award”. She served as Co-Chair on HFMA’s Education Committee and Dora’s article entitled “Medicaid Communication on Undocumented Aliens was published by HFMA in the August 2004 Edition of FOCUS Magazine. In addition, Dora is a Board Member of the Healthcare Employee Federal Credit Union.
Michael J. Greene – Co-founder and Partner – Mr. Greene has over thirty-five years of executive-level management experience in large health care organizations, including hospital systems, academic medical centers, and physician group practices. His experiences as a health care CEO and COO provide him with the ability to craft innovative strategies for enhancing clinical quality and improving financial performance.
Mr. Greene is currently the principal of Ayrault Consulting Group, the President of Realytics, Inc., and the President of Sierra Financial Services LLC, as well as an investor in Sierra Health Solutions LLC and Perspecta LLC. Since 2018, Mr. Greene has been an advisor to Customer Bank in New York, and, from 2011 to 2018, he was an advisor to TD Bank’s Health Care Group.
Mr. Greene and his firm, Ayrault Consulting Group, conduct performance improvement projects and turnarounds for hospitals and health care systems. Since 2018, Realytics has provided hospitals with performance improvement software, based on the analytical tools that Mr. Greene developed and used to lead numerous hospital performance improvement projects since 2001.
From October 2013 through 2015, Mr. Greene severed as a subcontractor to the Barnabas Healthcare System, which was engaged by University Hospital, Newark, to conduct a major performance improvement project at University Hospital, an instrumentality of the State of New Jersey. Mr. Greene served as the lead consultant on this project, which enabled University Hospital to improve its EBITDA from a loss of -1.40% in the first year after UH was formed in June 2013 to an EBITDA of 6.28% in FY 2015 and 6.36% in FY 2016.
From 2006 through 2013, Mr. Greene served as a subcontractor to Alvarez & Marsal, a global professional services firm specializing in restructuring, interim management and performance improvement. In that capacity, Mr. Greene served from 2011 to 2013 as the Interim COO of the West Penn Allegheny Health System, where he was responsible for the five hospitals in that system and where he implemented initiatives that increased the bottom-line of these hospitals by over $60 million per year. From 2009 to 2011, Mr. Greene advised the Chief Executive Officer and management team of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, and assisted them in implementing a performance improvement program that resulted in a $48 million turnaround. From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Greene served as the Chief Operating Officer of St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center-Manhattan where he was responsible for the development and implementation of an operational turnaround plan that enabled it to emerge from bankruptcy in 2008.
From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Greene conducted performance improvement projects for Mt Sinai, NYU and North General Hospital.
From 1991 to 2002, Mr. Greene served as the Executive Vice President of UMass Memorial Health Care, an integrated health care system that includes UMass Memorial Medical Center with 700 beds on three campuses, four community hospitals, and a 600-physician group practice.
From 1986 to 1991, Mr. Greene served as the President of Liberty Senior Living, which developed and managed independent and assisted living facilities.
From 1980 to 1986, Mr. Greene served as CEO of Cambridge Hospital, a teaching hospital affiliated with the Harvard Medical School, and from 1977 to 1980, he served as the Executive Director of North Charles Research and Training Foundation.
In addition to his current appointments noted above, Mr. Greene has also served on the boards of several health care organizations, including acute care hospitals, nursing homes, a nursing school, and several medical malpractice insurance companies.
